Below is a Facebook post from the Arizona Game and Fish Department. The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation earlier supplied funding for vegetation and fencing projects to support this larger effort.

Arizona Game and Fish Department biologists worked with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) to begin collecting data nearly 20 years ago on wildlife movements and wildlife-vehicle collisions to help determine where ADOT should build the Willard Springs wildlife overpass, currently under construction in Flagstaff.

Not only will this new overpass help reduce wildlife-vehicle collisions and provide habitat connectivity for local wildlife, but the Flagstaff Business News reports it will pump millions of dollars into the Flagstaff economy!
